Vacation

I've been away for a while, took a small vacation, so please excuse my absence. I stayed in a cabin nestled in the  Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. It was quite beautiful, and very relaxing. For once I was overjoyed to get away from technology and just spend a few days in the calm, quite outdoors. The only thing I brought with me was my phone, and thankfully so, as I never would have found the cabin without it's GPS. I caught myself checking my phone numerous times over the course of my vacation for updates on my favorite gadgets, but I forced myself to put it away in my bag and I really had a great time.

Today

I'm going to be perfectly honest, I want one of these. Not to use, mind you, to sit on my mantle as a conversation piece. This thing makes me laugh. It's a Motorola Droid 2 designed to look like everyone's favorite star wars character, R2-D2. Motorola had to strike a deal with George Lucas to even use the name Droid (that's right; Lucas got the exclusive trademark to the word "Droid" back in the 1970s). But not many people realize the Motorola-Lucas relationship. It's currently availabe, and retails for $599.99 off contract, or $249.99 with a 2 year service agreement. This is quite literally the nerdiest phone I've ever seen in my life...and I want it.
